Sky Croeser
My work focuses on how social movements are engaging in struggles over knowledge in the information age. My dissertation tied the opposition to genetically modified crops in India to filesharing, the free and open source software movement, and copyright activism, and understands these battles in the context of the broader movement for globalisation-from-below. The theoretical basis of my work draws heavily on critical theories of science and technology, and on social movement literature.
My current research interests include the use of social media as tools for collective organisation, gift economies, and social justice issues.
