Agustín Daniel Desiderato
Historian from Buenos Aires, Argentina. My areas of interest are related to Social and Cultural War Studies, particularly focused on 19th and 20th century Maritime History. After graduating as BA. and MA. in History, I began my doctorate at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), with a project that analyses the impacts of the First World War into the Argentine Navy. Among several issues, I focus my research on some technological, strategical and tactical changes that the Great War left behind, and how that made effect into the Navy officers minds and ideas.
Apart from being a doctoral student, I work as a Professor at Superior School of War (Escuela Superior de Guerra), which is ruled by The Army Faculty (Facultad del Ejército) and the National Defense University (UNDEF). In addition, I work as a researcher in two areas: first, in the above mentioned institutions, taking part in a project that analyses the Argentine civil society mobilization during the Malvinas/Falklands War; secondly, in the Group of Historical Studies on War (GEHigue) at the “Dr. Emilio Ravignani” Institute of Argentine and American History.
