Carlos Cámara

I pursue a positive impact on people’s lives through the shaping of physical and digital spaces. In order to do so, I study the commodifications between cities, technology and society in the context of the Urban Studies. So far, I have applied a spatial reading with a social perspective to the topic of spatial inequities, and, more specifically, on urban mobilities for disabled people and urban commons to find ways in which cities can be more sustainable and egalitarian, hence improving people’s well-being.
I am a versatile, transdisciplinary and passionate person with a mixed technical and sociological background: I’ve worked as an architect, drupal developer, project manager and data scientist, doing data munging and visualization using R and dealing with geospatial data using QGIS. I’ve devoted last 10 years working as lecturer in Universidad San Jorge and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Spain). I consider myself a team person who loves sharing knowledge with peers from different disciplines and who enjoys getting involved in a wide range of projects and initiatives. As a result, I provide an analytical and holistic approach to face complex problems, as well as passion, rigour and attention-to-detail in everything I am involved with, no mater its nature.
