Experience

  1. Scientific Collaborator with Bettina Schaefli, Ph.D.: Hydrology Department, Geography Institute, University of Bern: Feb. 2020 - present: Bern, Switzerland. Responsible for launching a research collaboration to bridge alpine and forest hydrology, supervise student projects, develop an environmental sensing course, establish a stable isotope lab.
  2. Scientific Specialist with Massimiliano Schwartz, Ph.D.: Bern University of Applied Sciences, Department of Agriculture, Forestry, Food Science & Management: Feb. 2020 - 2022: Bern, Switzerland.  Responsible for analysis of data from a project assessing the hydrologic consequences of clear-cutting in Ticino.

  3. SNSF Post-Doctoral Researcher with Bettina Schaefli, Ph.D.: Institute of Earth Surface Processes, Department of Geosciences, University of Lausanne (UNIL): Feb. 2016 - Jan. 2020: Lausanne, Switzerland. Research on innovative tracers for hydrologic process understanding in alpine environments. I contributed expertise at the cusp of biology and hydrology, including studies of the consequences of high altitude reforestation & tracer potential of environmental DNA. I supervised student projects, mentored, taught at Bachelor level, and managed of field and lab research.

  4. Postdoctoral Fellow with Marc Parlange, Ph.D.: Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of British Columbia (UBC): Jan. - Dec. 2015: Vancouver, Canada. We discovered anomalies of land-atmosphere exchange in semi-arid West Africa that are critical for the global estimation of evaporation and water management.

  5. Scientific Collaborator with Andrea Rinaldo, Ph.D. Ecohydrology Laboratory, EPFL: Jan. - Dec. 2014: Lausanne, Switzerland. We discovered the complex interplay of society, biology and hydrology for the spread of a waterborne disease, schistosomiasis, with field data and modelling. I supervised student projects and managed field activities.
