Synatra Smith
I am an Afrofuturist cultural preservationist focused on demonstrating the creation, perpetuation, and transformation of Black cultural landscapes with special attention to the ways in which virtual and physical space are used as environments to transform access to archives and special collections, both conceptually and in practice, as well as the material culture that contributes to this phenomenon by developing immersive experiences using such technologies as virtual reality and augmented reality.
In my personal life, I am a multi-sensory, experiential curator, seamstress, and crafter with a commitment to supporting Black businesses where I can or doing it myself influenced by Black makers and creatives.
