A key challenge for geographers is assessing data technologies’ promises to help solve sustainability issues related to food security, climate adaptation, and ecosystem services conservation. I focus on understanding tech's human dimensions - its design, use, maintenance, and effects on society - alongside governance trends such as marketization and metrification. I am interested in how environmental data systems come to be but also experimenting with them towards more just and equitable ends.
