A graduate of The College of Wooster, James Ladd of Portland, Oregon, holds a bachelor of arts in English with a minor in history. During his time in college, he was a letterman on the varsity lacrosse team and served as president of his fraternity. After graduation, James Ladd entered the insurance industry as a national accounts workers’ compensation claims adjuster for Travelers Insurance Company in St. Louis, Missouri. He then took on a position as a life and health insurance agent at Northwestern Mutual Life, where he worked for two years before relocating to Portland. 

Mr. Ladd’s first position in Oregon was with Durham & Bates Agencies Inc., as assistant vice president and producer. He went on to serve as an independent consultant with Hammack Insurance Agency and later as a risk manager with Parati Company. Mr. Ladd most recently held the position of escalation manager in the retention department at YURZ, which formally did business as Linktech International.
