First-year student John Daniel is pursuing a B.S. in Software Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. His fascination with technology at a young age drove him to the field of Computer Science. 

In high school, John held different leadership roles tasked at improving campus and community climate. He oversaw different groups, like student facilitator in his former district's Equity and Inclusion Committee and commissioner of rallies in student government.

Outgoing and driven to bring others together, he hopes to use his time at the University of California, Irvine to explore how to address social and other issues using technology. Currently taking "Environmental Injustice", John hopes to develop stronger research skills to help better address sustainability and the environment within technology.
