Michael Mulvey
I specialize in Modern European history with a specific geographical interest in France and the Francophone Caribbean. My research examines Catholic, women’s and gender, and urban history. I have taught popular large surveys and small seminars on European, African, and Caribbean history. As an educator, I am committed to the fullest academic development of each person in line with my values: care, justice, and dignity. My professional career reflects a fidelity to humanistic encounter and my belief that history combats a culture of indifference as it generates affectations for happiness through creative research and communication (print, digital, public). My exciting scholarly agenda converses with evolving postwar and postcolonial historiographies.
