Sarah D. Calhoun
At Gould Library at Carleton College, I am the liaison to multiple departments, including History, Asian Studies, Digital Arts and Humanities, European Studies, and Medieval & Renaissance Studies. I also co-supervise the Digital Humanities Associates and Digital Scholarship Interns and work closely with many other groups around campus to support digital scholarship work. The thing that most excites me about digital scholarship is its potential for improving accessibility of scholarship, both in terms of reaching scholars with disabilities but also helping to cross language and writing system barriers. In graduate school, I studied the history of the concept of "religion" as it relates to Theravada Buddhism in Sri Lanka and Thailand. I have studied many languages, including Hindi, Pali, Sanskrit, Sinhala, Thai, French, and Russian.
