Have you ever taken a ferry across a large body of water, or perhaps a very large river? Some people do this every day as they commute to work, for instance people across the Hudson River to go to work in New York City and then back again to the New Jersey side. In Washington state people take the ferry quite often as well. In Maine people take the ferry across to Nova Scotia.
