I am a former chimney sweep who morphed into a writing teacher. B.A. from Centre College (1977) in Danville, KY, M.A. in English (rhetoric and comp) from Western Kentucky University(2003). Ed doc candidate in educational leadership at WKU starting second year of program. Co-tech liaison for last two years for the WKU Writing Project. Grant from TLNetwork to do Social Networking in the Classroom resulted in three-day institute last summer. Taught high school English/drama/arts&humanities/
technology for ten years in rural 8-12 high school near Mammoth Cave. KY. I am a full-time English instructor at WKU, a newly appointed tech liaison for the Kentucky Writing Project for whom I will organize and administer our state-wide Technology Academy for Summer 2010. My wife, Elaine Digges, and I farm fifty acres and raise sheep. We have three kids who are now out of the nest: Phoebe (20), Lark (23), and Nate (26).
Current interests include: Zotero evangelism, Social networking acceptable use policies (or lack thereof), academic workflow for students and colleagues, developing a broader repertoire of Web tool use in the classroom, doctoral research on social capital in online networks.
